Shane Weigman
Physiotherapist l Special Interest in Sports Rehabilitation
Shane Weigman is a dedicated physiotherapist with a strong background in athletic training and a passion for sports rehabilitation and return to play programming. He holds a Doctorate of Physiotherapy from Bond University and began his career in the United States, working with National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I and II teams across a range of high-performance sports including ice hockey, football, lacrosse and volleyball. This experience provided him with a solid foundation in athlete care and performance optimization.
Since moving to Australia Shane has continued his work in elite sporting environments. He currently serves as the Lead Physiotherapist for Sunnybank Rugby Union Club and has worked with Queensland Rugby League (QRL) conducting pre match and training injury assessments for City vs Country athletes. Additionally, he contributed to Bond University's AFL program supporting teams that achieved both grand final victories and runner up finishes.
Clinically Shane specializes in ACL rehabilitation sports injuries return to play strategies and general musculoskeletal conditions. His approach integrates evidence-based practice with manual therapy and targeted exercise ensuring that every patient from youth athletes to mature adults receives comprehensive care tailored to their needs.
Shane’s goal in every session is to provide clarity, confidence and a structured plan ensuring his patients leave with a clear understanding of their path to recovery and peak performance.
